Health premiums could rise 17 pct for young adults

"CHICAGO (AP) - Under the health care overhaul, young adults who buy their own insurance will carry a heavier burden of the medical costs of older Americans—a shift expected to raise insurance premiums for young people when the plan takes full effect."...

and

"Consider 24-year-old Nils Higdon. The self-employed percussionist and part-time teacher in Chicago pays $140 each month for health insurance. But he's healthy and so far hasn't needed it.
The law relies on Higdon and other young adults to shoulder more of the financial load in new health insurance risk pools. So under the new system, Higdon could expect to pay $300 to $500 a year more. Depending on his income, he might also qualify for tax credits."

LMFAO!!

Wanna bet that the "The self-employed percussionist and part-time teacher" voted for Obama??

Of course he did.   He thought that he was going to get free cheese paid for by someone else.

Likely some old rich Republican..

Silly Rabbit...   There IS NO FREE CHEESE..

As my nephew would say..

Dude you've been pwnd!

All these young folks thought they were going to get "free stuff" paid for by evil rich Republicans are about to get an object lesson in reality. SInce 'self esteem' was more valuable than education in their schools, they were never taught enough economics to know that they were being lied to.

That's our fault we should have taken action in the education system sooner.  I'm sorry.

On the other hand..  If you vote for someone based on charisma and "hoping for change" without the ability to use REASON then you end up in this situation with monotonous regularity.

Not to worry, the adults will fix this for you in November.
